Instructions
Help in the fight against diabetes. Traverse the levels and defeat the various sugary items that appear in order to maintain a healthy body. Gather fruit, non-starch vegetables and lean meats to help you in this battle to save a patients life. But dont waste time! You are timed in the fight against sugar.
Move super eat boy around with the arrow keys (left right and up) to collect various foods and defeat the boss in order to achieve victory before time runs out. By holding the up button, super eat boy can temporarily glide slightly farther.
The 3 colored bars on the left correspond to the 3 food groups you must collect in order to survive. Red corresponds to lean meats, green corresponds to non-starch vegetables, and blue corresponds to fruit. As you collect more of one of the food groups, the bar will increase resulting in points. When the bar is filled, the player receives a water and the bar resets.
Water provides a shield to the player. The amount of waters is located under the sugar level bar at the top. The more waters you have, the less the sugar level bar moves when you get hit by an enemy. As you get hit, the water level slowly decreases so you must collect more foods to gain water back.
The sugar level bar, located at the top with skulls at each end, slowly decreases as you move around. When the player gets hit by an enemy, the bar moves forward. When the bar hits either one of the ends (either one of the skulls) the player dies and loses.
In dire situations, the player may use insulin (the bar located to the left of the water level and below the sugar level bar) at the cost of points to force the sugar level meter back to normal by pressing __.
To hit enemies, simply jump on top of them. If an enemies hits any part of your body other than the bottom, you will take damage (sugar level bar will move to the right).

All artwork provided by Ian Jacobson, Josh Manning, Eric Ly, Nicole Chang, and Anna Sakoi from Laguna College of Art and Design.
Lead programmer - Anthony Hoang
Miscellaneous code provided by Ryan Langer, Allen Roman and Michael Kunisaki
Sound mixed by Hamilton Le.
feel free to add on/change any of this. idk wat else should be in here anyways...

Various stuff
So LCAD people havent responded with any artwork or anything so the start screen looks ghetto... like it has white bkg name of game on the top and 3 buttons... so ya idk what we should do.
Also, anthony are you going to be able to make it into an exe file? or something? cause he said it needs to be able to be executed from the cmd prompt.
also meeting for ppl in ME? we should at least talk about final touches and help eachother/feedback.

Beta 0.4 + Source Code
Here's the next beta, with the source code for those of you who want to look at the code and add more.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/d3yy0c
P.S. The file is called low quality because I converted the mp3 down really low. Lol, I didn't want to wait for the long upload. The main/final version will have default quality, not low.
Change Log:
-Added the background music and jump sound
-Added dust particle effect for Super Eat Boy when he jumps, lands on the ground, or does a sudden direction turn.
-Randomly spawned enemies throughout the map using Math.random()
-Added the big vilii thingy in the background.
On a side note, play the game, and note anything you see. If you want something more to do, we do need play testers. No one volunteered for that role yet, and it's pretty important to have quality checks too.

Hey everyone, although this is off topic but if you guys can and want to (would be nice if so) help me out in this contest for some gaming gear =) thanks a lot and thanks again

Enemy stuff
So i did some stuff here for making an enemy and having it move around/etc using the ucigame. I don't have images or the coordinates for images so i didnt actually add the image, since you need coordinates for the frames in ucigame.

EDIT 1 :Re-Updated Links permissions should be granted put a comment if still trouble
EDIT 2 : Re-Did Links again and hopefully it should work now
EDIT 3: Okay to much trouble with google docs and permission and etc so new link from MU that should contain my notes and sound files
EDIT 4: The crossed out links still contains my notes and sounds but i don't know if you have permission so if anything use the MU link =)

This is my folder of possible sounds for the game so far, I have included several different versions of possibilities for some categories, such as chomping noises, start menu music, and so forth. So please take a listen and tell me if any sounds need changing or something seems off and i'll try my best to edit them and also try to tell me what other sounds we need so i can continue my search for them or make them.

Please Read Anthony
Hey so professor frost kind of asked us to decide between your code and ucigame and we decided to try to implement as much ucigame as we can so that its not just you writing code. So if you can, please translate as much as your code as you can into ucigame. If you cannot do it for certain stuff, we will work as a team to try to fix it. If like certain aspects just dont work in ucigame and work in your code, dont worry about it and we'll just implement it as your code.
Thanks,
Michael + rest of Team M

Testing out the dimensions
Hey guys, Magedark/Allen here. I worked on the dimensioning of the game, and I thought this would work for it, however, I'm going to post it up so everyone can see it. The dimensions are 800 * 400, so I was wondering if it should be bigger or whatever. Also, I'm working on scaling the ground to a nice platformer size.
Is the size for the ground fine, or should I upscale it, or downscale it? I'll make it transparent as the time comes, this is just for proof of concept.
And to the programming guys, when the ground is fully loaded, the entire image is loaded, meaning I can scroll through the entire image. This makes the platforming continuous strip a lot easier to accomplish, but I haven't figured out a way to do it yet.

Some ideas for programming the game.
I'm not sure if anyone here used Greenfoot before, but it's a Java library that comes with it's own IDE. It's pretty easy to use, and I have coded with it before.
I wrote code about two years ago for a contest, and I think we can reuse the code for this game. If you're wondering what program it was, you can download it here and view my original post of the game here along with the intro and instructions. To play the game, download the zip from the sendspace link, extract it, and run MidoriWorld.jar. The source code is also in there, called MidoriWorld.zip.
It's basically a platform game, which is perfect for our usage here since Super Eat Boy is also a platform game. Of course, this is entirely up to everyone whether or not to use this. I believe it would save us a lot of time to reuse my old code so that we can focus on more of the game aspects, not the programming ones.
By the way, the code isn't commented, sorry lol. Most of the method names are self explainatory though.
